Meet Chito: Our First U.S. Strutt ev¹c User
Imagine visiting Disneyland or a local park with your family, but instead of setting the pace, you are constantly trying to keep up with the crowd or relying on others to help you navigate long distances. For years, that was the reality for Chito. But when three delivery boxes arrived at his doorstep two weeks ago, everything changed.
Recently, we sat down for a one-on-one chat with Chito, our very first user who received the product in the United States. Chito is a tech enthusiast, a dedicated grandfather, and an early adopter who recently took the leap into the world of smart everyday vehicles.
Here is his journey from following us online to rolling out on his first solo adventures.
The Journey to Strutt
Chito always loved exploring, but long outings across expansive properties came with physical fatigue and reliance on his family. Despite wanting a motorized solution, Chito resisted traditional personal mobility vehicles for years for one major reason: the design.
Everything changed a few months ago when Chito stumbled upon the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, featuring Zach and Cambry in the Strutt ev¹. As a tech lover, he was instantly hooked. He joined the Strutt Drivers Club, following every update from our CES launch on January 5, 2026, and counted down to the days until his preorder arrived.
The Unboxing Experience: Quality and Simplicity
When the FedEx delivery arrived with three boxes, Chito and his girlfriend were ready. Guided by the official Strutt YouTube tutorials, the setup process was seamless and intuitive.
"The way the box was nicely packed and organized... Everything was packed with a purpose. You could tell that what you're getting is going to be quality. Actually, feeling it and having it definitely exceeded my expectations."

As a first-time user, Chito was initially curious about learning to navigate a motorized device and maneuver in reverse. However, thanks to the intuitive design and obstacle-avoidance features, the transition was smooth. He downloaded the Strutt app ahead of time, activated his vehicle, and completed his first over-the-air software update seamlessly right out of the box.
Opening Up a World of "New Possibilities"
For Chito, the Strutt ev¹ isn't just a piece of high-tech consumer robotics. It is a gateway to shared family experiences that once felt out of reach.
Before getting the ev¹, family trips to places like Disneyland meant heavy reliance on his family to move around. Family gatherings at the park meant watching his two- and four-year-old grandkids play from the sidelines, unable to navigate the grass on his own.
Now, the ev¹ is shifting the dynamics of how he connects with his loved ones:
- Walking Side-by-Side: "It feels good to move effortlessly. People can walk beside me, and it’s just a different feeling."
- Skipping the Elevator Lines: Chito is already planning a trip to watch a baseball game with his girlfriend, a past favorite pastime. "When we get to the stadium, there's a long wait for the elevator. But the ev¹ has no problem just going right up the pedestrian ramp. I can just drive up."
- Embracing the "Last-Mile" Roll: Just today, Chito and his daughter ditched the car for a quick trip to the local store. "Instead of driving and getting there in 5 minutes while someone was looking at their phone, it took us 20 minutes, but we had a chance to talk to each other. It gives you time to get close and have a real conversation."
From traversing park trails to planning a trip to San Diego and attending Comic-Cons, Chito says the ev¹ has given him something deeply personal back: true independence.
Having a Team Around the Clock
Transitioning to a brand-new mobility system can be daunting, but Chito notes that the community and direct support from the Strutt team made all the difference.
"The support is beyond what I expected. It is amazing. With any product I have ever purchased, I’ve never gotten this kind of support. I told my kids, 'I have a dedicated Discord channel with four people in there.' It feels like I have someone around the clock just to answer my questions."
When asked to summarize his entire journey from unboxing to his first few weeks of daily use, Chito smiled:
"The dedication from customer support, the quality of the product, the simplicity, and the technology - it's all packed into one. It feels like the company genuinely cares."
